Wild Puffin - Shetland Mare Resin
Windswept, wide-stanced and fishing for a rogue leaf in her coat, Wild Puffin is a shaggy Shetland mare with a loose coat and unruly hairdo to match.
Puffins are UK-native birds - they have a notorious charm due to their bright, unique looks and personalities. As cliffside dwellers, they can be found up and down the coastline, including the Isle of Shetland in Scotland alongside the native ponies of the same name, of course! This girl shares the name as Shetland ponies have a reputation for being equally as cheeky, and equally as loveable.
Wild Puffin has sculpted fur texture, rough hooves and scrumptious nose wrinkles - she has plenty of potential for detailed painting and making her your very own, whether as a hillside free-roamer, or a riding school pony that's keen to give young equestrians a fun first time at the stables.
Please note that Wild Puffin is not headwear-friendly and unable to wear bridles/halters due to the nature of the sculpture.
Finishes
- Each model is hollow 3D printed in one piece with 3mm walls in ABS-like resin for Traditional/1:9 scale, and flex resin for Venti/1:20 and Stablemate/1:32 scales.
- Semi-prepped models will have any mild imperfections sanded & filled with Citadel Liquid Green Stuff and drain holes filled with Milliput. One bloat hole will remain to ensure that gases can escape the model, aiding any expansion/warping. I strongly advise that you do not fill this hole for the sake of the model's longevity and archiveability. Please note that, although I will do my best to correct any flaws, prints in this finish are ordered with the expectation some additional prep work may be needed prior to painting.
- Raw models will be shipped in freshly-cured print condition, with all imperfections unsanded, and drain & bloat holes unfilled. These models may need significant prep work prior to painting.
Scales
- Traditional (1:9), 140mm tall to tip of mane.
- Venti (1:20), 70mm tall to tip of mane.
- Stablemate (1:32), 50mm tall to tip of mane.
Availability
- Sold as an open run, meaning there is no limit on the number of copies produced. Limited quantities may be released during the first few runs due to supplier availability.
- The model may be intermittently out of stock, depending on the lead times of my print provider. In the event of this, Wild Puffin will still be available to purchase as an awaiting-stock pre-order.
All Wayfaring Fox Creations original sculpture resins are 3D printed. They are NOT cast.
Prints are supplied by an independent professional 3D print specialist in the North West of England with experience in creating high-quality resin 3D prints for the TV, Film & Medical industries. You can be safe in the knowledge that Wayfaring Fox Creations original 3D printed models have been thoroughly designed, cured and cleaned to ensure that they arrive to you with both the utmost care for your safety and an incredibly precise level of detail.
Models are made from an ABS-like resin for Traditional/1:9 scale, and flex resin for Venti/1:20 and Stablemate/1:32 scales. These provide a small amount of flex to increase durability - this means that the likelihood of breakage from shipping, handling and dropping is minimised significantly.
The creation process is a harmonious blend of digital design and traditional finishing techniques, ensuring every piece created is unique and meticulously crafted. I take pride in offering a comprehensive range of scales for each model that combine state-of-the-art expert 3D print modelling and hand-finishing.
3D printed models are made from liquid photopolymer resin (liquid plastic) in an SLA 3D printer, which uses lasers to cure the model layer-by-layer. Any form of resin - cast or 3D printed - has the potential to cause an allergic reaction, or irritation to the eyes, throat and skin - especially when cut or sanded. Wayfaring Fox Creations models are designed to allow for thorough curing & washing on both the inside & out of a model prior to shipment. Models are designed and printed with the guidance & overseeing of a 3D printing industry professional to minimise risk wherever possible. In that event that you experience a physical reaction, or have any concerns or questions, please contact me at rowena@wayfaringfoxcreations.com and I will be in touch as soon as possible.

Couriers are unfortunately notoriously unreliable with their handling. Models are wrapped in unbleached muslin, bamboo toilet roll and recycled bubblewrap, then placed within a secondary inner box to add structure.
I currently use Royal Mail to ship my products.
Flutter Mail is included in each purchase - this consists of freebies, discount codes and loyalty rewards. If you're purchasing a resin, a COA (certificate of authenticity) and 3D print information will also be included.
While I do take the greatest care to pack models for smooth shipment, I take no responsibility for transport damage causes by the courier(s) used.
