Mikrokosmos - Medallion
COMING SOON
Awestruck in cosmic exploration, Mikrokosmos is inspired by the otherwordliness of the galaxies in space, and the emotional connections we have to the stars.
'Mikrokosmos' originates from a Greek phrase meaning 'little world' or 'microcosm'; a small and contained ecosystem, sometimes used to describe a community of people who are harmonious alongside everyone and everything else.
We associate the stars with many things, and can find comfort in them. We look to find hope, speak to our loved ones, or simply to appreciate the expanse of the world above. This sculpture looks to encapsulate those feelings in a small, handheld galaxy.
Mikrokosmos features the Nebulesse base model with a cloud-like tear floating from its eye, surrounded by a moon-like crescent of cloud that ties the orbiting ring to the medallion base.
The Mikrokosmos medallion is part of 'The Cosmic Collection', featuring two other medallions, 'Nebulesse' and 'Black Hole'.
Finishes
- Each medallion is solid cast made from Smooth-Cast 300 resin.
- Prepped medallions will arrive with any mild imperfections sanded & filled with Citadel Liquid Green Stuff. Please note that, although I will do my best to correct any flaws, prints in this finish are ordered with the expectation some additional prep work may be needed prior to painting.
- Raw models will be shipped in freshly-cast condition with any flashing removed. These models may need some slight prep work prior to painting.
Scales
- One scale, 110mm wide, 130mm tall and 20mm thick
Availability
- Sold as an open run, meaning there is no limit on the number of copies produced.
- The model may be intermittently out of stock, depending on the lead times of my print provider. In the event of this, the Mikrokosmos Medallion will still be available to purchase as an awaiting-stock pre-order.
Any form of resin - cast or 3D printed - has the potential to cause an allergic reaction, or irritation to the eyes, throat and skin - especially when cut or sanded. Wayfaring Fox Creations models are designed to allow for thorough curing on both the inside & out of a model prior to shipment. Models are designed, printed and cast with the guidance & overseeing of a 3D printing & mouldmaking industry professional to minimise risk wherever possible. In that event that you experience a physical reaction, or have any concerns or questions, please contact me at rowena@wayfaringfoxcreations.com and I will be in touch as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding handling cast or 3D printed resins, our processes, materials used or need advice on prepping 3D prints, please feel free to get in touch via any of the methods listed below:

For in-stock artist proof resins, despatch will be the next working day. Shipping estimates are listed at checkout, depending on your location.
A tracking number will be provided for all orders upon shipment.
I can offer same-day personal delivery in certain regions of the North of England, please contact me at rowena@wayfaringfoxcreations.com to discuss this.
Couriers are unfortunately notoriously unreliable with their handling. Models are wrapped in unbleached muslin, bamboo toilet roll and recycled bubblewrap, then placed within a secondary inner box to add structure.
I currently use Royal Mail to ship my products.
Flutter Mail is included in each purchase - this consists of freebies, discount codes and loyalty rewards. If you're purchasing a resin, a COA (certificate of authenticity) and 3D print information will also be included.
While I do take the greatest care to pack models for smooth shipment, I take no responsibility for transport damage causes by the courier(s) used.
